National Entrance Screening Test 2016
Two of India’s well-known science institutes i.e. Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, the University of Mumbai and National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, select the candidates for admission to the Integrated M.Sc. programs by the means of National Entrance Screening Test 2016 (NEST 2016)
Every year 149 students are admitted into these institutes by the means of entrance examination and from 2016 onwards Integrated Science Education and Research Center (ISERC), VisvaBharati has also joined the admission process and additional 21 students will be selected for Integrated M.Sc. program. The NISER, Bhubaneswar has been organizing NEST examination since both these institutes were established by Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India i.e. since 2007.
For the academic session 2016-17, the admission notification has been released and the application process will continue till March 24, 2015. The entrance test will be conducted on May 28, 2016. Let us have a look at some of the important details related to the NTSE 2016 examination:
· Courses: The candidates appearing in the NEST 2016 will get admission in Integrated M.Sc. courses in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
· Application Process: There is no offline application process and candidates are required to fill in the online application form in order to be considered for the entrance examination. To make the application the following steps are to be followed:
o Registration: Candidates are required to provide their email id and contact number in order to register for the examination and start the application process.
o Filling the form: Candidates are required to enter their details such as contact address, academic performances etc.
o Making Payment: Candidates are required to make payment of application fee to complete the application process. Male Candidates from General & OBC categories are required to pay application fee of Rs. 700 while all others (including girls from general category) should pay Rs. 350 as application fee.
§ Payment can be done either using debit/credit cards or net banking.
§ Candidates can also opt for Payment through demand draft.
o Uploading Documents: Photograph and signature of candidates as per the specifications mentioned are to be uploaded.
o Verification: This is the final step before submission and candidate should check that all information entered is correct as changes will not be possible once the submission has been done.
o Printout and Submission:Candidate should print the application form and if payment is to be done through Demand Draft, the demand draft along with the confirmation page is to be sent to concerned authorities.
· Admit Card: The admit card for the candidate who completed the application process properly will be available on the official website of NEST 2016.
