Natural remedies of H. Pylori

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacterium found in the gastric mucous layer of the stomach or the epithelial lining. H. pylori is the main cause for duodenal and gastric ulcers. Before the year of 1982, ulcers were thought to be caused by certain food, spices, stress but, after a major breakthrough it was proven that h pylori was the root cause behind it. With proper h pylori treatment, it is possible to successfully eradicate the infection with a minimal chance of recurrence of the bacteria and the ulcers.
There are particularly no symptoms directly related to the infection. However, h pylori causes chronic persistent, chronic active, atrophic gastritis in children and adults. It also causes gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. Infected people may have an increased risk of gastric cancer as well as MALT lymphoma (mucosal associated lymphoid type).
Every year, the hospitalizations relating to ulcers are increasing, with new cases of peptic ulcers, gastric ulcers and mucous lymphoma. Certain symptoms include:
  • Burning pain or gnawing pain in the epigastrium on empty stomach, early morning, between meals.
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Frequent belching
  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Loss of appetite
  • Prolonged bleeding
  • Fatigue
  • Dark feces
  • Low red blood cells
  • Diarrhea
  • Bad breath
  • Heartburn
H. pylori is a contagious disease. H. pylori can be transferred from an infected person to a healthy person by direct contact with saliva. So it is recommended to drink clean water, maintaining sanity and hygiene around you at all times.
H. pylori is also a colonizing bacterium. Medications can relieve the pain initially, and eradicate the bacteria, but it cannot guarantee recolonization of the bacteria around the stomach walls.
The main solution to h pylori infection is not only to get rid of the bacteria but also to help reduce the inflammation. H. pylori can be treated naturally as well as by conventional medications. But, natural remedies ensure to reduce the inflammation of the stomach walls and minimize the risk of cancer.
There are good and bad bacteria, probiotics are beneficial ‘good’ bacteria that help in maintaining the intestinal health, digestion and in helping to keep harmful bacteria like h pylori under control. Probiotics like Lactobacillus and Saccharomyces boulardii and Bifidobacterium species have inhibitory effects. Probiotics are more useful when they are used a supplement along with conventional drugs or natural herbs.  NAC or N-acetyl cysteine, a natural antioxidant, is helpful in destroying H. pylori’s biofilm, which helps the bacteria to survive on the stomach linings. Biofilms are also responsible for showing resistance to antibiotics. NAC helps to destroy the biofilm, thus overcoming the antibiotic resistance. Herbal nutrients are rich in antibacterial actions and are masters in eradicating harmful bacteria such as h. pylori. Some of them are:
  • Ginger root extract
  • Red ginseng extract
  • Garlic extract
  • Red wine extract
  • Broccoli sprouts
  • Capsaicin from red bell peppers
  • Green tea
While the market is filled with conventional drugs with many side effects, Grocare India is successfully launching herbal formulas that not only eradicates the bacteria from the system but, also strengthens the health of the gut. Xembran is one such remedy to curing stomach ulcers and minimize the effect of inflammation by taking complete control of the Helicobacter Pylori infection.
